Why don't pop songs (in America) use minor scales?

Yeah I've improvised with hundreds of pop & mainstream songs and i haven't found one that uses a minor scale! And yeah, I know there are some in like heavy metal or legendary musical geniuses like Jimi Hendrix or Cat Stevens or in genres like classical music and jazz. But these days in the music we all hear all the time, all I hear is Major, which there is nothing wrong with, but why doesn't anyone use minor scales? Yeah, they might for a couple of seconds then end with like the tonic in major, but why doesn't anyone just use minor? Does it sound too Halloweenish or something? Thanks. (:
