How should i know what scent he likes?

This is a stupid question, but i'd like to figure it out. So this guy i really like, i want him to notice me more, but in simple ways like what perfume, or lotion i wear. The problem is i don't know what kind of scent he likes, like some guys like vanilla a lot of guys like the cookie smell. Is there a way to tell what scent he might like? I'm not goin ask him, because its really obvious then, and im not goin have any of my friends ask, cuz then he'll really know. Right now i wear the scent from bath and body works, country apple, he doesn't noticed. but one of his friends did. lol But his smell is a dark, mysterious smell. i think he said he wears something like black magic. In other words, what smell do you think his personality would like? thx
