Why do Christians accept excuses on God's behalf that they wouldn't accept on any human's behalf?

Have you ever tried arguing with a 5 year old? You can't win because they have no reasoning skills. It's exactly the same thing trying to argue with a Christian about their beliefs. Only it's not that they can't reason (in most cases), they just refuse to. Makes no sense, I know.
