Secret of the Magic Crystals for Mac?

I recently bought Secret of the Magic Crystals from the Mac app store. I was under the impression that the game autosaved my progress, and I exited the game after playing for about an hour, but when I came back to play, there were no saved files. This happened about 3 times. Also, how do I end the tutorial messages? Did it not save because I was in a tutorial? I cannot find any help online from searching. Apparently they fixed the saving glitch back in may. So anyway, how do I save my progress? Can I?
